We provided highways and transport advice in relation to the development of a 12Mw Solar Photovoltaic Farm at Hawker’s Farm in Theale, Somerset.
Consequently Mayer Brown investigated various construction routing strategies, direct and with drop off points (where the final leg of the journey would be undertaken by a tractor with a trailer). This involved undertaking swept path analysis, identifying highway restrictions (weight or height) or local and wider construction traffic approach routes in addition to identifying temporary widening required to facilitate delivery vehicle access to the site.
Subsequently we prepared a Traffic Management Plan for the development, which outlined site access, construction traffic routing, trip generation, parking provision and outline mitigation measures in order to minimise impact on the local highways and local residents.
