Ian Mitchell
DirectorIan is a Director at Mayer Brown, with over 20 years’ experience in taking large scale development projects through the planning system. Ian joined Mayer Brown in 2002 and in that period, projects in which he has advised on have included the new neighbourhood at Beaulieu in Chelmsford, involving over 3500 residential units, Bourn Airfield in Cambridgeshire involving over 3000 residential units, together with Station Upgrades including Epsom, Guildford, Twickenham, Bishops Stortford, Walthamstow Central and the new North East Chelmsford Station planned to open in 2025.
One of his main interests and areas of activity is in the implementation of Travel Plans and innovative Transport solutions and his work includes, with his Team, the establishment of a new Demand Responsive Bus Service, for the residents of Marham Park in Bury St Edmunds. The work in being a practitioner of innovative Transport Solutions is now being used for the Chelmsford Garden Village project, involving over 5500 new homes in a Garden Community setting.
