We have an impressive track record in the design of rail interchanges, in relation to new stations and improvements to existing stations.

Design of Rail Interchanges

Our skills range from the initial feasibility studies demonstrating how an interchange could operate in the future to allow for growth in different access modes, through to work in relation to the detailed implementation of new and improved stations. This includes pedestrian capacity studies to ensure the Station is correctly designed and detailed operational plans demonstrating how the Bus Interchange, the Taxi Set Down and Pick Up, the vehicle interchange and the car parking would work.

Many of our projects relate to how station interchanges can be modified to create development opportunities at railway stations. We are very familiar with the Network Rail approvals criteria, in particular the GRIP Stages and the Forms 1, 2, 3 and 4 required as part of the Station Change Process.

Where required we liaise on your behalf with Emergency Services and any other relevant organisations. We can undertake various studies from track-work and signalling design, through to timetabling and Business Plan preparation.
