Blandford Woods SANG

Mayer Brown were commissioned by Grainger plc to undertake design work associated with the provision of a Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG), known as “Blandford Woods” in Aldershot. The works are currently being constructed by Grainger’s contractor and will be handed over to the Land Trust, who will maintain the SANG in the future.

Details

The site is located in Aldershot and following significant clearance works to remove windthrown trees, a new network of paths is being created with many timber bridges being installed to negotiate ditch crossings. The site links to the nearby Wellesley Woodlands, increasing the accessible outdoor space for the surrounding community.

We are excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the preservation and enhancement of the Blandford SANG, and through the Project Team’s dedication to sustainable practices, innovative designs, and seamless integration we hope that that the use the SANG can help everyone enjoy the intrinsic beauty of nature.
